ADI Commissions New Thailand Facility to Strengthen Global Manufacturing Resilience Recently, Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI), a global leader in semiconductors, announced the official commissioning of its newly completed advanced manufacturing facility in Thailand. This move will further enhance ADI's advanced manufacturing and testing capabilities while promoting the development of a more resilient and sustainable semiconductor production footprint in the Asia-Pacific region. This expansion is based on ADI's hybrid manufacturing strategy, leveraging a global network comprising internal factories, external foundries, and Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) partners to deliver solutions that combine resilience with high performance. Thailand plays a crucial role in ADI's global manufacturing network. By expanding ADI's presence in Thailand, the company enhances manufacturing resilience, flexibility, and capacity scale to support customers across diverse markets, thereby strongly underpinning the company's long-term growth. Positioned as a smart, sustainable facility, the new plant integrates advanced automation, digital manufacturing technologies, and robust operational systems, balancing efficient production with environmental sustainability. This enables faster response to market demands and continued delivery of the quality, reliability, and performance that customers expect in a rapidly changing global environment.

Vincent Roche, CEO and Chair of the Board of Analog Devices, stated: "Thailand is one of the strategic hubs in ADI's global manufacturing footprint. This expansion underscores our long-term commitment to making Thailand and the region a vital link in reliably and sustainably delivering world-class technology. As customer needs continue to evolve, this investment ensures we can continue to deliver our unique innovations at scale." Vivek Jain, Executive Vice President of Global Operations and Technology at ADI, noted: "The new facility greatly enhances our ability to conduct testing operations efficiently and responsibly. With the region's strong engineering talent pool, supply chain advantages, and industrial environment supporting long-term growth, Thailand is an integral part of building a more agile, resilient, and future-ready manufacturing network for ADI." Upgrading a Global Hub for Assembly and Test Analog Devices (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (ADTH), established in 2000, is one of ADI's most critical backend manufacturing sites, supporting markets such as industrial, automotive, communications, consumer electronics, and digital health. The new facility significantly expands cleanroom space and manufacturing capacity, enabling scaled operations in testing, wafer-level processing, chip-scale packaging, and final integrated circuit test. Serving as a hub for innovation and automation, the new plant integrates advanced manufacturing technologies to effectively enhance production efficiency, precision, and intelligent operations. Simultaneously, it enables smarter process flows, strengthening ADI's overall manufacturing capabilities and helping teams deliver tangible value in their daily work, responding to customer needs more quickly while maintaining high-quality standards.
Enhancing Global Supply Chain Resilience Through broader regional presence, increased operational agility, and enhanced flexibility within its manufacturing network, ADI's capacity expansion in Thailand reinforces the company's global resilience strategy. Located in Thailand's Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), the new facility benefits from robust local infrastructure, a strong engineering talent pool, and a stable, neutral operating environment, further strengthening ADI's ability to serve customers globally. Advancing Sustainability in Semiconductor Manufacturing Planned and constructed in accordance with LEED standards, the new facility embodies ADI's firm commitment to green manufacturing and is the first site in ADI's manufacturing network targeting LEED Platinum certification. From incorporating highly efficient energy systems and implementing resource optimization management to thoughtfully designing human-centric spaces that enhance employee well-being, the new facility is built not only for operational excellence but also for stewardship of the planet. This expansion project strongly supports ADI's broader sustainability commitments, specifically including achieving 100% renewable electricity usage, implementing energy-efficient facility designs, upgrading water recycling systems, and establishing real-time environmental performance monitoring systems. Furthermore, ADTH is the first semiconductor manufacturer in Thailand to utilize low-carbon liquid nitrogen, further reducing the carbon intensity of testing processes and solidifying ADI's leadership in sustainable semiconductor manufacturing. Cultivating Thailand's Semiconductor Talent Ecosystem ADI continues to invest in Thailand's semiconductor talent ecosystem through initiatives like the ADI Thailand Academy and collaborations with top Thai universities. These efforts aim to enhance engineering and technical capabilities in areas such as test engineering, automation, failure analysis, and smart factory technologies. Simultaneously, by further expanding internship programs and advancing long-term talent development plans, the new facility will help cultivate the next generation of semiconductor talent, thereby continuously strengthening ADI's engineering capabilities locally and globally. |
